Crown Magnetar Sunrise reviews
AARP Convention San Diego 2014
The first 30 minutes of the show was the best part, featuring Mavis Staples and her group on stage with a great performance. The stage setup breaks were too long, interrupting the flow of the show. Los Lobos only managed to impress with their rendition of the song "Labomba," while the rest of their set was a mix of too loud and slow songs. Crown Magnetar and their group were excessively loud and not very enjoyable. The younger crowd, seated at the front and blocking the view by standing, dancing, and drinking, made it difficult for others to fully enjoy the show. Many older attendees left before the concert ended due to dissatisfaction with the acts. Despite my lack of enjoyment during the 2nd and 3rd acts, I stayed until the show concluded. If future tickets are sold by Ticketmaster, I may consider skipping the concert portion of the convention. Overall, the musical selection for this Boomer group was not well-received.
